The Strange Life...

You know how weird things, when they occur regularly, begin to just go unnoticed...like it's normal...even though it COMPLETELY isn't? There is just such a situation here at work. There is a guy, a young guy, around my age, who works here in the store. He is...a special guy. First odd thing that just became a fact of life with this boy, was he began wearing some sort of back brace, but on the outside of his shirts, and it basically just looks like a girtle. Mind you, my thigh is bigger around than his waist...not exaggerating. So that (paired with just him being him) was awkward. That was how we first became acquainted w/ the guy. Then, towards the end of the summer (no doubt due to H1N1) he began wearing one of those little face mask/breathing filter things all day. That, in and of itself was funny. Picture this scrawny guy w/ his whittled waist and a little mask. Odd. Then...the face mask became...drum roll please...a full out gas mask. All day, every day. Not even kidding, not even a little bit.
Anyways, that's been his norm for about a month now probably. Why decide today to type about it? Because I passed him in the kitchen just now. He was sitting on a stool reading a newspaper, donning the gas mask. Presh.
It just made me think...how bizarre? If I had snapped a picture of that?! Amazing. That's something straight out of a sitcom, really. I mean...for reals. Odd. And here at my office, we work with this day in and day out. Really. Ha :-)
